The teen years is a learning and experimentational phase a journey of growth, curiosity and risk-taking. It is a time of discovering the world, and their place within it. It is a time when youngsters test their independence and step out of their comfort zone and the protection of their loved ones. It is a time for them to voice their opinions and formulate their ideologies, exercising their rights against social pressure.
At Holy Trinity Church we recognize the teens’ natural progression from their junior years to the beginning of early maturity and give them a space to be heard and express their concerns. We provide them a platform to question and explore their faith, challenge beliefs and traditions and feel God in their lives in a safe and nurturing environment with other likeminded people.
The Pathfinders Ministry is a 25+ strong team of young people, ranging from 13 -20 years, from as far as Nigeria and India. It is a place to appreciate the cultural differences, and the tolerance of these differences, remembering the one common faith we are all bound by – the belief in Jesus Christ.
During these meetings, the Pathfinders expound a biblical perspective of world matters, discover the word of God through studying the Bible, and engage in group discussions, debates, and songs. On occasions, guest speakers are invited to these meetings to bring in a fresh perspective to the discussions.
Holy Trinity Church’s Pathfinders holds true to 1 Timothy 4:12, "Don’t let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith and in purity." Amen.
